Construction on Skyline’s New Edmonton DC Nears Completion

A new Skyline Industrial REIT distribution centre in northwest Edmonton is nearing completion.

Construction is expected to be finished this summer, and spaces are now being leased, Guelph, Ont.-based Skyline announced. Skyline and its project partners held a ribbon-cutting ceremony recently to celebrate the development’s progress.

The project partners include SkyDev, Camgill Development, Avison Young, Eagle Builders, and the City of Edmonton.

The 96,700-square-foot building is known as Rampart III and located at 142 Street Northwest 157 Avenue Northwest within Rampart Business Park.

Skyline and Camgill’s leaders are bullish about the prospects of the Edmonton industrial sector.

“Skyline Industrial REIT continues to see significant growth potential in the Edmonton industrial real estate market, and we are dedicated to providing best-in-class industrial assets in Edmonton for years to come,” said Mike Bonneveld, the REIT’s president.

Camgill President Nolan Montgomery said the Edmonton industrial market has remained robust despite higher interest-rated environment and slower economy.

The REIT holds industrial assets across Canada, focusing its investments on warehousing and logistics-centred properties along major highway corridors and transportation routes.

SkyDev is a development and construction oversight company focused on residential and industrial projects. The firm is part of the Skyline Group, whose ownership interests include Skyline-branded REITs.

Edmonton-based Camgill develops and owns a diverse real estate portfolio, ranging from shopping centres to multi-family properties, across Western Canada.
