Couche-Tard Acquires, Builds, Rebuilds 53 Stores

Convenience-store and fuel-station giant Alimentation Couche-Tard acquired, built, reconstructed and relocated 53 stores in its latest fiscal year, the company reported.

Couche-Tard said it acquired three company-operated stores, completed the construction of 37 new stores stores, relocated or reconstructed 13 stores, and acquired three fuel terminals in Germany during the fourth quarter of its latest fiscal year.

The Laval, Que.-based retailer said the three store acquisitions brought its total number of company-operated stores acquired through various transactions since the beginning of fiscal 2026 to 29. The acquisitions were funded with available cash. The company also used available cash to acquire the three fuel terminals in Germany.

For the full fiscal year ended April 26, 2026, Couche-Tard opened 103 new-to-industry stores and completed 27 relocated or reconstructed stores, for a total of 130 store projects. As of April 26, another 34 stores were under construction and expected to open in upcoming quarters.
