Decathlon Opens New Calgary Store
French sporting goods retailer Decathlon has opened a new Calgary location.
Decathlon recently moved into 30,000 square feet in Cadillac Fairview’s Market Mall in the city’s northwest. The space was previously occupied by Toys ‘R Us.
Decathlon is offering a wide range of biking, fishing, outdoor, hunting, running, soccer, golf and other sports gear along camping items and sportswear. The Market Mall store is the company’s second in Calgary and Western Canada.
In 2021, Decathlon opened a 63,000-sf store and 7,000-sf automated warehouse in Oxford Properties’ Southcentre mall in southeast Calgary. The Southcentre location serves a distribution centre for online orders
Decathlon announced in August that it will open its first B.C. store, in Cadillac Fairview’s Metropolis at Metrotown mall in Burnaby. The French firm operates its stores in Canada through a Canadian subsidiary based in the Greater Montreal Area.
