Rendering of a proposed five-tower multi-family project in Pickering, Ont.

Developer Aims to Build 1,750 Multi-Res Units in Pickering

A local joint-venture development company is proposing to construct a five-tower multi-family project in Pickering, Ont., The Durham Post reported.

Resident and Cranston Capital, through the 705 Kingston Road Ltd., have filed a development application with the suburban Toronto city.

The project, planned for the southeast corner of Kingston Road and Whites Road at the Whites Road Shopping Centre, would be built in two phases, according to the report. If all goes according to plan, the project will include the five residential towers ranging from from 28 to 35 storeys. The proposed development would comprise a total of 1,748 residential units, approximately 42,216 square feet of non-residential space, and a 0.2-hectare public park.

The city is inviting residents to a public open house to learn more about the proposal and provide feedback. The meeting is scheduled for March 18 at the Chestnut Hill Developments Recreation Complex, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Resident, formerly known as Plaza Partners, builds, develops and manages its properties. Cranston partners with developers to help raise project equity. Both firms are based in Toronto.
