Devimco, Grandio to Open Three Restaurants in Downtown Montreal Condo Project

Developer Groupe Devimco and restaurateur Groupe Grandio have announced plans to open three new eateries in the Maestria Condominiums project in downtown Montreal.

Le Cochon Dingue will open its doors at the Maestria, located in the Quartier des Spectacles, in spring 2025. IRU Izakay will commence operations there in June 2025 and Chez Lionel will launch at the site a year from now.

Devimco and Grandio previously installed restaurants at the mixed-use developer’s Solar Uniquartier in the Montreal suburb of Brassard, Que.

“In tune with urban transformation and densification, our partnership with Groupe Grandio demonstrates our commitment to creating mixed-use projects,” said Caroline Girard, Devimco’s vice-president of property management and leasing,

“The [planned] opening of these three restaurants within Maestria Condominiums is proof of our confidence in the future of the restaurant industry in Montreal and a celebration of our shared desire to offer exceptional culinary experiences. Our continued collaboration with Groupe Grandio reinforces our shared vision of enhancing urban living through innovative, high-quality projects.”

A staple in the Quebec City area with six locations, Le Cochon Dingue will make its debut in Montreal, serving its diversified menu in a 250-seat space. The IRU Izakay chain offers a Japanese bistro experience, and Chez Lionel locations serve a French brasserie-style menu.

“Our team is proud to expand its presence in downtown Montreal with brands that are new to the area,” said Jean Bédard, Grandio’s president and CEO. “Our diverse restaurant offerings will surely delight festivalgoers, businesspeople, and visitors who frequent the Quartier des spectacles and its surroundings.”

The Maestria project comprises Montreal’s largest two residential towers that stand 58 and 61 storeys. The towers are connected by Quebec’s highest suspension bridge, on the 26th floor, and contain about 40,000 square feet of shared common areas.

Amenities include a lounge within the glass-encased skybridge, carwash, virtual golf area, Scandinavian thermal bath and spa, creative studio, library, business centre, gym, indoor and outdoor pools, and a courtyard greenspace.

Maestria also houses convenience stores.

Devimco bills the Quartier Spectacles as North America’s largest concentration of museums, theatres and galleries.

Phase 1 occupancy began in 2023. Phase 2 occupancy is slated to commence this fall.
