Disney Hires rennie to Sell SoCal Homes to B.C., Alberta Residents
Disney has chosen rennie to market a large multi-residential development in Southern California to B.C. and Alberta residents.
Vancouver-based rennie has been appointed as the exclusive broker in B.C. and Alberta for Storytelling by Disney’s Cotino project located in Rancho Mirage, Calif., within the Greater Palm Springs Area in the Coachella Valley. Cotino is the first Storytelling by Disney new-home community currently underway.
Storytelling by Disney is a series of planned residential communities in the U.S. spearheaded by the U.S.-based global entertainment company.
“For more than 40 years, our people-first approach has supported the real estate needs of countless clients and new communities,” said rennie President Greg Zayadi in a news release “We know how excited Canadians are to learn more about the Cotino community and we can’t wait to assist them on their real estate journey.”
ECRM Residential, a limited partnership based in Scottsdale, Ariz., is developing Cotino on behalf of Disney.
Cotino’s first phase of residential development includes limited releases of single-family homes throughout 2024. Plans call for the 618-acre community to contain 1,900 residences, including future condominiums, and a town centre with shopping and dining spaces.
The community is being built around Cotino Bay, which will contain Crystal Lagoons technology that allows for “the clearest turquoise waters” and provide opportunities for water recreation, according to the news release.
Cotino’s Artisan Club will include such amenities as the Architect’s Fork casual restaurant, Plot Twist outdoor bar on the waterfront, a wellness centre featuring fitness equipment and outdoor tennis and pickleball courts, and a studio for creative and artistic pursuits.
According to the news release, Walt Disney, the company’s founder, used to visit the area.
“Walt Disney Imagineering provided the architectural and aesthetic inspiration for each design collection, including direction on colour palettes, exterior elements and landscaping,” states the news release.
