Dufresne Opens New Toronto Ashley Store

The Dufresne Group has opened a new Ashley furniture store in the Toronto community of Etobicoke.

The new store is located at 1602 The Queensway. Etobicoke is now legally part of Toronto but was formerly a separate municipality.

The new store features a sprawling 28,000-square-foot showroom. The outlet is the 19th Ashley store in Ontario under Dufresne’s ownership, bringing the firm’s portfolio of Ashley stores across Canada to 39.

Winnipeg-based Dufresne is a furniture retailer that licenses the Ashley brand in Canada. Founded in the 1940s, the Dufresne Group is a family-owned business that originated in Kenora, Ont. The company is headed by Mark Dufresne.

Based in Arcadia, Wis., Ashley has about 1,125 global locations. .
