Fabric Living Seeking to Develop 115-Unit MF Project in Vancouver’s Commercial Drive Area

Fabric Living plans to develop a 115-unit multi-family rental residential project in Vancouver’s Commercial Drive area.

The site is located at 3295-3333 Commercial Drive, near Trout Lake Community Centre and John Hendry Park.

The local developer has submitted a development application to the city. The proposal is now going through a question-and-answer period until December 4.

The proposed development aims to transform the current site, which includes a mix of low-rise commercial and residential buildings, into a modern and vibrant residential community, says the company in its development application.

Fabric Living focuses on creating contemporary, community-oriented residential projects. The development application seeks to establish a new CD-1 (Comprehensive Development) zone to maximize rental-housing opportunities in the area.

The proposed six-storey building is designed with a mix of units, likely targeting a range of tenants that would include individuals and families.

Key features of the proposed development include terraced landscaping to accommodate the site’s natural grade, accessible ramps, and outdoor social spaces. The building will also offer modern amenities such as urban agriculture areas, an outdoor kitchen, and seating spaces to promote community engagement.

The redevelopment aims to revitalize the area, introducing new housing options while maintaining the neighbourhood’s dynamic character, says fabric living.

The company’s vision for the project incorporates both private and communal spaces designed to ensure a balance of functionality and social connection. The design leverages natural elements, with landscaping that includes local tree species and sustainable green features.

The project reflects the company’s commitment to contributing to Vancouver’s housing supply while creating inclusive, livable communities, says Fabric Living.
