Financial Prize Available for Best Olympic Stadium Roof Reuse Idea
The operator of Montreal’s Olympic Stadium is offering a cash prize for the best idea for reusing the stadium’s old roof.
The roof is scheduled to be replaced during a four-year project that will begin this summer. Olympic Park has invited professional architects and design students to propose spaces, objects and processes that use the old roof’s materials.
Quebec residents will be able to choose one of eight finalists, chosen by a jury of experts, for the award which has been reported as $80,000.
The aim is to come up with numerous suggestions that recommend environmental, social and economic benefits.
The submission deadline is May 31.
