Genesis Residential Lot Sales Up 5% in 2025

Genesis Land Development sold 5% more residential lots in 2025 than it did in 2024, said company in its latest earnings report.

Genesis reported selling 760 residential lots in 2025, a 5% increase from 726 lots sold in 2024, while fourth-quarter 2025 lot sales more than doubled to 328 from 157 a year earlier. The sale post points to more residential development activity this year.

The Calgary-based developer and homebuilder said it sold 405 homes in 2025, up slightly from 401 in 2024. Fourth-quarter home sales totalled 121, compared with 107 in the same period the previous year.

Genesis recorded 302 new home orders during 2025, down from 419 in 2024, reflecting what the company described as a return to more historical levels. In the fourth quarter of 2025 new home orders totalled 81, compared with 107 a year earlier.

The company also strengthened its financing capacity. In February, Genesis entered into a credit agreement for a $105-million secured revolving credit facility with a syndicate of Canadian financial institutions for an initial three-year term. The facility includes a $100-million revolving loan for general corporate purposes, including land and lot purchases and land-servicing activities, as well as a $5-million letter-of-credit sub-facility.

In addition, Genesis said it sold a 40% ownership stake in Hazel Lands Limited Partnership to two Calgary-based third-party builders in the fourth quarter of 2025. The transaction closed in December, generating total proceeds of $19.1 million, consisting of $13.7 million in cash and the assumption of debt by the purchasers.

Genesis is an integrated land developer and homebuilder that operates in the Calgary metropolitan area.
