Georges Coulombe Plans New Hotel Near Montreal’s Olympic Park

Gestion Georges Coulombe has announced plans to build a new hotel near Montreal’s Olympic stadium in partnership with France Film.

Plans call for the construction of about 200 rooms. The hotel would be built on the site of France Film’s 17-cinema StarCité complex.

Some cinemas will be retained, while the site’s parking lot is slated to become a large public square, Sonia Gagné, a senior associate at Provencher Roy, the architect behind the project, told La Presse.

Construction is expected to begin in 2025.

Georges Coulombe and France Film hope to capitalize on the site’s proximity to the stadium, major tourist attractions, high foot traffic and a shortage of hotel rooms in the area.
