Global Watchmakers, Jewellers Coming to Montreal’s Royalmount

Rolex will be among 14 global luxury watchmakers and jewelry retailers opening stores in Montreal’s Royalmount mall.

Switzerland-based Rolex will open its largest Canadian flagship location, operated by Raffi Jewellers in the midtown shopping centre, which is part of a $7-billion development.

“Securing top-tier watchmakers and jewelry retailers for Royalmount solidifies our commitment to offering visitors a diverse and high-quality shopping experience,” says Andrew Lutfy, CEO of Carbonleo and lead Royalmount investor, in a news release.

“Jewelry often holds sentimental value for its owners. It tends to invoke a special moment or memory. And, this fits beautifully with the Royalmount experience, of which creating human connections is a huge part.

The mall’s owner, Carbonleo, has also secured Swiss watchmarker TimeVallée, which will launch its first Canadian store in partnership with Maison Birks. The store will also offer such big-name global brands as Cartier, Panerai, Baume & Mercier, Jaeger Lecoultre, Chopard, Grand Seiko and Piaget.

Luxury watch and accessory maker Montblanc will also be part of the Royalmount mix, along with reknown brands Swarovski and Pandora.

The newly announced tenants will join other international watchmaking and jewelry retailers who previously committed to lease space in Royalmount, including: Tiffany & Co., David Yurman and TAG Heuer, having already chosen ROYALMOUNT as their new Montreal home.

Tiffany & Co.’s store will constitute its flagship and largest premises in Montreal. Meanwhile, the David Yurman store, will be the global chain’s first location in Quebec.

The history of Formula One auto racing in Montreal will be featured at the TAG Heuer boutique.

Carbonleo, a Montreal-based development and management firm, is partnering on the Royalmount project with Greenwich, Conn.-based investment company L Catterton.
