Good Earth Engages Marcus & Millichap on Expansion

Good Earth has engaged Marcus & Millichap to expand the coffeehouse chain’s footprint across Canada.

Calgary-based Good Earth said it is actively pursuing spaces around 1,500 square feet, but the company is also open to leasing smaller locations in such diverse settings as kiosks, street-front milieus, multi-use buildings and shopping centres.

“This partnership with Marcus & Millichap is a significant step towards realizing our vision of bringing the Good Earth coffeehouse experience to even more Canadians,” said Michael Going, Good Earth’s CEO, in a news release.

Ryan McLaughlin, a vice-president of retail based in Marcus & Millichap’s Toronto office, will lead the location search.

Good Earth currently operates about 60 coffeehouses across Canada, ranging from Victoria to Toronto. Going and Nan Eskenazi founded the chain in 1991, seeking to offer wholesome food and create a distinctive atmosphere featuring social and environmental responsibility.

The company’s operations include franchises.
