Habitations Pilon Breaks Ground on 2.4M-SF Galia District
Habitations Pilon has broken ground on its massive Galia district in Greater Montreal.
Galia is located in Saint-Philippe, Que. The development is slated to comprise 2.4 million square feet and contain approximately 800 residences, including multi-family rental units condominiums, townhouses and single-family homes. The project is intended to be constructed in four phases with the first deliveries scheduled for spring 2025.
All of the home are scheduled for completion by 2032.
“We are extremely proud to see the Galia neighbourhood project finally take shape and to celebrate this milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony,” said Jean-François Pilon, vice-president at Habitations Pilon. “From the very beginning of the design, we focused on affordability to meet the diverse needs of today’s families and buyers, while integrating contemporary realities.”
The 22.6-hectare site will also include about 800,000 square feet of various large parks accessible to the public. The neighbourhood will also also offer a wide range of services and amenities, including restaurants, pharmacies and shops.
Galia is near public transportation, including the Brossard REM station, which offers direct access to downtown Montreal; the Candiac commuter-train station, and the EXO bus line. The site is also located near the region’s main roads, including Route 132 and Highways 30 and 15.
“This project represents our vision of harmonious and environmentally friendly urbanization as well as our commitment to sustainability, quality of life and the future of our city,” Saint-Philippe Mayor Christian Marin.
