High Tide Opens New Canna Cabana Pot Store on the Danforth
Cannabis retailer High Tide has opened a new Canna Cabana store in Toronto’s Greektown district.
The store is located at 201 Danforth Avenue. Greektown is commonly known as the Danforth due to the popularity of the avenue.
The opening gives Calgary-based High Tide 184 stores in Canada, including 70 in Ontario and 10 in Toronto.
“Our Canna Cabana brand and the Cabana Club have grown exponentially in popularity over the past six years and this is why we are now evaluating additional retail opportunities in the city of Toronto,” said Raj Grover, High Tide’s CEO. “We are targeting densely populated corridors like Danforth and other prime locations to serve as many Torontonians as we can through our disruptive and innovative retail model.”
High Tide is looking to capitalize on population density, proximity to amenities and high foot traffic in an area popular with tourists. The store is located across the street from a large provincially owned liquor store and is one block away from the Broadview subway station.
The Danforth music hall within short walking distance of the Danforth music hall, and about 250,000 residents live within a three-kilometre radius.
High Tide plans to open more Toronto locations in the near future.
“Expanding our reach in one of the largest and fastest growing population centres in North America will be a focus for us through the remainder of 2024 and beyond,” added Mr. Grover.
The company is Canada’s largest cannabis retailer, operating stores in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba as well as Ontario. High Tide is also looking at possible moves into the U.S. and Europe as part of a global growth effort.
