High Tide Opens Second Recreational Pot Shop in Scarborough
High Tide has opened its second Canna Cabana retail recreational cannabis store in Toronto’s Scarborough district.
The new store is located at 2432 Eglinton Avenue East. (Scarborough was previously a suburb of Toronto but now falls within its city limits and comes under its governance.)
The store, which began selling recreational cannabis products and consumption accessories for adults, is the company’s 188th Canna Cabana location in Canada, 74th in Ontario, and 11th in Toronto.
Situated in a busy grocery and drugstore-anchored shopping centre, the store is located across from the Kennedy GO Train and subway station, a key transit hub in the Greater Toronto Area. The new Canna Cabana location is expected to serve approximately 20,000 residents within a one-kilometre radius.
“This new store is strategically positioned near the Kennedy transit station, a key commuting hub for Scarborough’s 630,000-plus residents,” said said Raj Grover, Calgary-based High Tide’s founder and CEO. “Additionally, its location within a major shopping complex underscores our commitment to securing prime real estate in high-traffic areas,”
Grover said High Tide’s innovative and disruptive retail model, complemented by a strong and strategic real estate portfolio, continues to drive consistent free cash-flow generation, fuelling the company robust brick-and-mortar growth trajectory.”
The new Scarborough location continues High Tide’s expansion efforts, reinforcing its presence in Toronto and the surrounding area, said the company.
The company is Canada’s largest cannabis retailer, operating stores in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba as well as Ontario. High Tide is also looking at possible moves into the U.S. and Europe as part of a global growth effort.
