ICM Bluebird Purchases GTA Self-Storage Property

ICM Bluebird has acquired a new self-storage facility with about 100,000 square feet of net rentable space in the Greater Toronto Area, the company announced.

The class A property is situated on a 2.52-acre parcel along Victoria Street in Whitby, Ont., and comprises about 900 storage lockers that are approximately 65% occupied. Options include climate-controlled units, high-tech security, RV parking and motorcycle storage.

Situated near downtown, the storage facility is adjacent to such major retailers as Home Depot and Winners.

With the acquisition, ICM Bluebird continues to grow its portfolio of class A self-storage facilities across Canada. The Victoria Street outlet, with its close proximity to Thickson Road and Highway 401, ranks as another GTA flagship location and complements the acquisition of a Mississauga storage asset in 2023, said the investment firm.

Calgary-based ICM Bluebird invests in class A storage assets in Canadian major markets through a limited partnership fund.

The Whitby acquisition provides another flagship location in the GTA and complements the 2023 acquisition of Matheson in Mississauga, reinforcing the fund’s strategy of acquiring institutional-quality assets across Canada, said ICM Bluebird.
