IKEA to Open Third Plan and Order Point in Montreal

IKEA Canada intends to open a third plan and order location in the Greater Montreal Area.

The global furniture retailer announced that it will open the new store in September 2024 in Terrebonne, Que., at First Capital’s Galeries de Lanaudière open-air shopping centre in the Lachenaie district.

IKEA’s plan and order points are part of the company’s effort to enhance the omnichannel shopping experience. The points are service-based spaces where customers can get help from an IKEA specialist to plan complex purchases for future home delivery or pick-up off site, according to the company.

“Since 2022, we’ve opened three plan and order points in the Montreal and Ontario markets and the response we’ve received from customers has been very positive,” said Inna Romagnoli, IKEA Canada’s business development and transformation manager.

IKEA also announced that it will open another point and order location in London, Ont., in spring 2024.

The company opened a new one-million-square-foot distribution centre in Greater Montreal in September 2023.
