Ivanhoé Cambridge, Hines to Add Two Restaurants at Texas Tower
Canada’s Ivanhoé Cambridge and U.S.-based Hines plan to add two restaurants to their massive new downtown Houston office tower.
Montreal-based Ivanhoé Cambridge and Hines, which is headquartered in Houston, announced that they are partnering on the eateries with Berg Hospitality Group.
Built in 2023, the investment firms’ Texas Tower stands 47 storeys and spans 1.2 million square feet. The site is the former home of the Houston Chronicle newspaper.
The first restaurant, named the Sylvie, is expected to open soon. The venue will comprise 3,267 sf, seat 85 patrons and offer a French-European menu. The spherical space will be designed by New York City-based ICrave and include a bistro bar and dining room with tables and banquettes.
Patrons will have the option to dine in or purchase take-out items.
“We look forward to introducing a unique and sophisticated dining option for both our property’s office tenants and the wider Houston community to further bolster and enrich the neighborhood’s offerings and overall experience,” said Jonathan Pearce, head of U.S. office and life sciences investments for Ivanhoé Cambridge, referring to the Sylvie.
The second restaurant, Dune Road, is slated to open this summer. Dune Road’s concept and menu are designed to bring a taste of New England to downtown Houston.
Ivanhoé Cambridge and Hines rank among the world’s largest commercial real estate investment companies. La Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) owns Ivanhoé Cambridge and is in the process of integrating the subsidiary.
Hines has a large presence in Canada, holding 14 million square feet of assets in the country.
