Jenna Weinkauf is a lawyer in Dentons’ corporate and real estate groups in Edmonton.
Since beginning her career at Dentons as a summer and articling student, Weinkauf has become a highly regarded legal professional, recognized in The Best Lawyers in Canada (2021 and 2022) as One to Watch in real estate law.
Weinkauf’s practice spans all areas of commercial real estate, including acquisitions and dispositions, planning and development, condominium projects, commercial leasing, and infrastructure initiatives such as solar and wind farms. She is experienced in ownership agreements, including partnership, joint-venture, shareholder, and co-ownership structures. Her background in financial services also enables her to support both lenders and borrowers with real estate-based financing, including complex construction and development projects.
A valuable secondment to an international corporation in London and New York strengthened Weinkauf’s insight into business law, enabling her to approach legal challenges with a practical, commercially minded perspective. Her portfolio includes transactions for major institutional clients, developers, and corporations. She has acted for clients on commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and financings across the office, industrial, multi-residential, and retail sectors.
Known as a leader in the legal community, Weinkauf circulates monthly case law updates to industry peers and provides mentorship through Dentons’ WomenLEAD committee.
Beyond her work at Dentons, she actively contributes to CREW Edmonton, currently serving as the group’s president after holding several other leadership positions during the past six years. She supports leadership programming for CREW’s 180 Edmonton-based members and engages in initiatives, such as the Future Leaders committee, to empower women in real estate.
Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Weinkauf earned a certificate in Embracing Allyship and Inclusion from Athabasca University in 2021.
She is celebrated not only for her legal skill but also for her dedication to her community. As a mother of two, she balances her professional and personal responsibilities with a genuine passion for helping others thrive.
These are just some of the reason why Connect Canada CRE selected Weinkauf as a 2024 Canadian Women in Real Estate Award.
