K-Bro Acquires Second Montreal Laundry Plant

K-Bro Linen has acquired a Montreal healthcare laundry business and its plant for $12 million.

Edmonton-based K-Bro announced that it has completed the purchase of C.M. Baunderie, including the real estate for the firm’s processing and storage facilities in North Montreal.

The acquisition gives K-Bro two Montreal plants to serve its growing healthcare and hospitality needs after the company purchased Buanderie Villeray for $11.5 million. In conjunction with that deal, K-Bro closed its plant in Granby, Que.

“K-Bro is proud to serve Quebec and we are excited to further diversify our customer base in the province,” said Linda McCurdy, K-Bro’s president and CEO. “C.M. has been serving top-tier healthcare customers in the attractive Montreal market for decades.

“Our acquisition of C.M. expands K-Bro’s healthcare customer base, increases healthcare volumes, adds additional healthcare capacity, and supports significant future growth opportunities.”

C.M., a private laundry and linen operator, has annual revenues of about $7.3 million ihealthcarewill close its plant in Granby, Que., after completing the acquisition of laundry firm Buanderie Villeray for $11.5 million.

Edmonton-based K-Bro announced that it will shutter its Granby plant and consolidate its volumes into Villeray’s Montreal facility. The acquisition includes Villeray’s affiliate Buanderie La Relance. (Buanderie is the French word for laundry.)

“Our acquisition of Villeray enhances K-Bro’s position within the attractive Montreal market,” said Linda McCurdy, K-Bro’s president and CEO, in a news release.

K-Bro ranks as Canada’s ;largest owner and operator of laundry and linen processing facilities. In addition to owning 10 processing facilities in Canada, the company owns and operates plants in the U.K.
