KaleMart24 Opens First Store in Montreal

A Montreal convenience-store operator is banking that it can attract customers seeking healthy snacks instead of junk food.

KaleMart24 has opened its inaugural flagship store at the Berri-UQAM subway station in Montreal.

“Our aim is to seamlessly integrate convenience and sustainability, empowering customers to make informed choices that support their well-being and the health of our planet,” Oussama (Sam) Saoudi, KaleMart24’s CEO, said in a news release.

KaleMart24 aims to disassociate convenience stores from junk food by offering healthier food choices for a mobile, savvy younger audience.

According to a published report, the 1,200-square-foot store is the first of three in Montreal and many others to be located across North America eventually.

The second KaleMart24 store is slated to open soon at Jarry Metro Station in downtown Montreal near the Bell Centre, home of the National Hockey League’s Montreal Canadiens. Other planned locations are unconfirmed, Saoudi told an interviewer.

Saoudi is also the founder of Montreal-based energy drink maker Toro Beverages.
