Lassonde to Develop Second Beverage Plant in New Jersey
Lassonde Industries has announced plans to invest approximately $200 million in a second beverage manufacturing plant in New Jersey.
If all goes according to plan, the new facility will be situated adjacent to its current New Jersey plant.
The proposed 200,000-square-foot facility is expected to enhance Lassonde’s competitiveness in the U.S. northeast market by improving production efficiency, increasing capacity, and reducing costs.
Construction is set to begin in early 2025, with production gradually shifting to the new facility in 2026. The transition is expected to be completed by 2027, at which point the plant will reach full operational capacity.
“This investment strengthens our position as a leading North American manufacturer of fruit juices and drinks,” said Vince Timpano, CEO of Lassonde, in a news release.
He noted that the initiative supports both private-label and branded beverage expansion, while enhancing profitability and operational flexibility.
The company also highlighted its ongoing efforts to optimize U.S. operations through efficiency improvements. A recent $53-million investment in its North Carolina facility, which expanded single-serve capabilities, will be followed by an additional $20-million investment to bring more production in-house.
This in-sourcing, expected to be completed by 2025, will increase flexibility and improve reliability, according to the company.
Rougemont, Que.-based Lassonde is a North American food and beverage industry leader. The company produces a wide range of private-label and national-brand beverages, fruit-based snacks, and specialty food products, including pasta sauces, BBQ sauces, and soups.
