Leon’s Opens New The Brick HQ, Shared-services DC

Leon’s Furniture has officially opened the new corporate headquarters for The Brick, alongside a shared-services distribution centre in Edmonton.

The combined facility spans 500,00 square feet, marking one of the most significant property investments in Toronto-based Leon’s century-long history.

The new site will also serve as the head office for Trans Global Insurance, employing over 400 team members in Edmonton.

“The new DC will enhance product availability and shipping times throughout the prairies and territories,” said Leon’s President and CEO Mike Walsh. “Our new Corporate Headquarters for both The Brick and Trans Global Insurance provides a modern and innovative space to promote excellence.”

The Brick President Darci Walker said the project makes a significant contribution to the company’s expansion strategy.

“This new building marks a monumental step forward for The Brick, as it demonstrates our commitment to growth,” she added.

The facility, built under a 50/50 joint venture partnership with Qualico Properties, is located on 28 acres of purchased land in northwest Edmonton.

Founded in 1971, The Brick is a leading Canadian retailer of home furnishings, mattresses, electronics, and appliances. The chain operates brick-and-mortar and online stores, serving customers across the country.

Leon’s is Canada’s largest retailer of furniture, appliances, and electronics. Its retail banners include Leon’s, The Brick, The Brick Mattress Store, and The Brick Outlet. With over 300 stores nationwide, Leon’s also operates the country’s largest commercial appliance retail division, catering to builders, developers, hotels, and property management firms.
