Leyad Enters Hospitality Sector with Hotel Purchase
Leyad has entered the hospitality real estate sector with the purchase of a hotel in Quebec’s Eastern Townships.
The company announced that it has acquired the waterfront Hotel & Spa Lac Brome in Lac Brome (Lake Brome) for an undisclosed price.
“This property perfectly aligns with our vision of diversifying investments into new real estate asset classes,” said Henry Zavriyev, the Montreal-based company’s founder and CEO.
The 40-room hotel boasts 477 feet of lake front footage and includes a boutique French restaurant, conference facilities and the spa.
Leyad said it plans to undertake a comprehensive renovation program that will “encompass various aesthetic improvements to the premises, aimed at elevating the ambiance and modernizing the facilities while preserving the hotel’s unique charm and character.”
The purchase continues Leyad’s acquisition spree in Quebec and Winnipeg. In recent months, the company has acquired the iconic Johnston Terminal in Winnipeg from Artis REIT and two other prominent locations in the Manitoba capital: A 263,430-square-foot industrial building, which is primarily occupied by Canada Goose, and the CDI College site.
Leyad also purchased an industrial building in Montreal’s borough of Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. The company plans to convert the building into an artist and creators’ hub.
