Leyad Opens New Office in Edmonton as Commitment to Prairies

Leyad has opened a new office in Edmonton to support acquisitions, asset management and community engagement in the Prairies region.

The real estate investment and management firm, led by CEO Henry Zavriyev, owns more than 2.4 million square feet of retail space in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, focusing on high-traffic, necessity-based shopping centres.

“Our investment strategy is built around creating long-term value in communities where retail plays a critical role,” said Zavriyev. “The properties we’ve acquired in Alberta reflect our belief in the province’s economic resilience and growth potential.”

Leyad’s Alberta holdings include Londonderry Mall in Edmonton, which underwent a $130-million renovation in 2017; St. Albert Centre, the primary shopping destination in St. Albert, Alta.; and Reed Crossing, a major power centre in Grande Prairie, Alta.

“Alberta is a dynamic market, and we’re excited about the long-term opportunities here,” Zavriyev added. “Establishing a dedicated office in Edmonton allows us to deepen our local relationships and act quickly on new investment opportunities.”

The company continues to pursue retail and mixed-use opportunities across Western Canada.
