Little Victories Opens Second Downtown Ottawa Location

Little Victories Coffee Roasters has opened its second café in downtown Ottawa.

The new coffee shop is located at the corner of Bank and Queen Streets. The opening coincides with the Ottawa-based company’s eighth anniversary.

The new location is near the company’s first central Ottawa digs at 44 Elgin Street.

Ironically, co-owners Andrew Bassett and Jeremie Thompson originally planned to open their first downtown coffee shop at the Bank Street location back in 2017, the company recalled in an announcement posted on its social media channels.

Bassett, a barista, and Thompson, a roaster, sought to purchase an existing tenant’s lease, but the then-landlord rejected the proposal because the company was not well-established, only operating a small café in the Hintonbourg neighbourhood and fledgling wholesale coffee business.

“We were still new, and I guess he didn’t think it was viable,” Bassett told the Ottawa Business Journal.

With the Bank Street building under different ownership, he and Thompson were able to secure a lease this time.

Little Victories currently operates solely in the nation’s capital but aims to expand across Canada.
