L.L. Bean Opens First Quebec Store

L.L. Bean has opened its first Quebec store in suburban Montreal with another one coming soon.

The U.S.-based outdoor gear and clothing retailer launched an 18,000-square foot location in St-Bruno, Que., with an official grand opening. The store is situated in Cadillac Fairview’s enclosed Promenades St-Bruno mall.

L.L. Bean now has 14 locations in Canada. North York, Ont.-based Jaytex Group operates the Canadian stores through a licensing agreement.

L.L. Bean will open its second Greater Montreal store in Boisbriand, Que., on September 29. The company has leased an 11,500-square-foot space in North American Development Groups’s large-format Faubourg Boisbriand shopping centre.

“These two new stores will ensure a coast-to-coast presence in Canada for the company,” said L.L. Bean in a news release.

In conjunction with moving into Quebec, the company launched a French version of its website.
