Lululemon has opened a distribution centre spanning more than one million square feet in Brampton, Ont.
Lululemon has opened a new automated distribution centre spanning more than one million square feet in Brampton, Ont. With the opening, the company has expanded its North American e-commerce fulfillment network and created new opportunities for employee training and career development, said Lululemon.
The facility, which now fully operational, serves customers across Eastern Canada and the eastern United States. It features one of North America’s largest AutoStore-enabled warehouse systems, with 292,000 storage bins, 525 robots and eight kilometres of conveyor systems to improve the speed, flexibility and scalability of order fulfillment.
“Since breaking ground in 2023, our new Brampton DC marks a significant milestone in the continued evolution of Lululemon’s global supply chain,” said Ted Dagnese, the Vancouver-based company’s chief Supply chain officer. “This facility expands our fulfillment capabilities in Canada and the U.S., enabling us to better serve our guests and operate with greater speed and agility. The opening represents collaboration across our operations, engineering, technology, facilities, and supply-chain teams, and reflects our commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and creating new opportunities for our people as we build the future of our distribution network.”
The activewear retailer said the distribution centre combines advanced automation with employee development, giving workers opportunities to build specialized operational and technical skills while supporting lululemon’s continued growth.
