Mach Aims to Develop Gatineau Multi-Family Project
Groupe Mach plans to develop 400-unit rental multi-family real estate project in redevelop a vacant former federal building in downtown, Gatineau, Que., the the Ottawa Business Journal reported.
Vincent Chiara, Mach’s president, told the OBJ that the company hopes to break ground on the development next summer.
Located across the Ottawa River from the Parliament buildings, Gatineau is part of the National Capital Region.
Chiara told the OBJ about its Gatineau plans while discussing Montreal-based Mach’s intention to redevelop a former federal office building in downtown Ottawa as a multi-residential rental project.
Chiara said Mach, which owns and manages more than three million square feet of commercial space in Ottawa and Gatineau, is keeping a close eye out for other opportunities in the region.
“We’re looking to grow there,” Chiara said. “We’re a long-term player, so we’re not just passing by. We’re looking to be in that market for the long term.”
