Mattress Retailer Endy Opens First Store in Halifax

Endy has opened its first store in Halifax, marking the mattress retailer’s expansion into the Maritimes.

The store is Endy’s second brick-and-mortar location, following on the success of the company’s flagship store in Toronto. The new Halifax store is located at 5640 Spring Garden Road.

The outlet represents Endy’s growing investment in the East Coast market and its shift towards omnichannel retail after eight years of operating exclusively online, said the company.

“Our first store location demonstrated that, as much as Canadians value the comfort and convenience of being able to shop online, many do still appreciate the benefits of in-store shopping,” said Jason Cassidy, president of Endy. “We’re proud to offer that to an increasing number of customers as we continue to expand our retail presence.”

Endy launched online in 2015. The company’s first brick-and-mortar store opened at CF Sherway Gardens in Toronto in 2023.

The Halifax store will offer shoppers the chance to test out Endy’s award-winning, Canadian-made mattresses, as well as receive personalized service from knowledgeable staff, said the Toronto-based company. In addition to mattresses, the store will feature a range of bedroom products designed to enhance sleep quality.

“The East Coast is a growing market where we’ve noticed an appetite from customers for a more personal experience, and we’re excited to be meeting them there,” said Cassidy.

As part of its commitment to the Halifax community, Endy has donated 30 mattresses and 30 weighted blankets to local charities, including Juniper House, Truro Housing Outreach Society, and Parker Street Food and Furniture Bank, organizations with which the company has established long-term partnerships.

Endy is a subsidiary of Sleep Country. The Brampton, Ont.-based chain has 307 corporate-owned stores and 18 warehouses across Canada.
