McLennan Appointed Ontario Teachers’ Acting Investment Chief

The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board has named Stephen McLennan as the fund operator’s acting chief investment officer.

OTTP is one of Canada’s largest institutional commercial real estate investors. McLennan assumes the duties of Ziad Hindo, who is preparing to leave OTTP at the end of the year following 23 years with the organization. Over the coming weeks, McLennan will work closely with Hindo to manage a smooth investment leadership transition, OTPP said in a news release.

Following the transition, Hindo will act primarily as an advisor to CEO Jo Taylor. Hindo will also continue to sit on the board of Cadillac Fairview, the fund’s commercial real estate investment company.

McLennan, has been serving as executive managing director of total fund management. He joined OTTP in 2003 and has risen through the ranks since then.

Both McLennan and Hindo will continue to sit on the board of Cadillac Fairview, the fund’s commercial real estate investment and development company.
