Medline Opens New Calgary-Area Distribution Centre

Medline Canada has opened a new Calgary-area medical supplies distribution centre.

The development is located in Rocky View County, just north of Calgary. Rocky View is a submarket within the Calgary real estate marketplace and serves as home to many industrial parks.

The new 160,000-sf distribution hub doubles Medline’s warehouse capacity in Western Canada, the company said in a news release. The expansion also allows Medline’s network to meet rising demand in the western region and provide a solid foundation for growth across its acute care, primary care, and long-term care business lines, the company added.

“This investment demonstrates our commitment to meeting our customers’ evolving needs, providing solutions to support their challenges in today’s healthcare environment, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of critical medical supplies across the country,” said Ernie Philip, Medline Canada’s president.

Medline provides medical supplies and equipment to a wide range of hospitals, clinics, seniors’ residences, pharmacies, and retail stores across Canada. The company holds about two million square feet of warehouse space in the country, including Sinclair Dental properties.

Medline Canada is a subsidiary of Northfield, Ill.-based Medline, which serves as a global manufacturer and provider of medical products and services for the healthcare industry. Medline’s eight Canadian logistics and warehousing facilities range from St. John’s, NL to Delta, B.C.
