Fiera Capital has appointed Maxime Ménard as global president and CEO.

Ménard has been serving as head of the Montreal-based asset manager’s Canadian business and global private-wealth section. He will assume his new role on July 1.

Ménard will succeed Jean-Guy Desjardins, Fiera’s founder executive chair of the board. Desjardins, 80, will continue to provide “strategic oversight” of the company, continuing as executive chair of the board and head of global asset allocation, said Fiera.

“This decision reflects a clear conviction: Maxime is the right leader to take Fiera Capital forward,” said Jean-Guy Desjardins. “He brings the discipline, integrity, and strategic focus required to execute our vision and strengthen the firm for the long term.” 

Ménard joined Fiera in 2024 after two decades with investment manager Jarislowsky Fraser.

His appointment is part of a revamp of Fiera’s executive team.In the other moves, Gabriel Castiglio duties are being expanded to executive-director and global chief operator. He is expected to retain his duties as global chief legal officer and corporate secretary.

Meanwhile, Lucas Pontillio will lead corporate strategy while continuing to serve as executive-director and global CFO. Both Castiglio and Pontillo will report directly to Ménard.
