Ménard Takes Helm of Fiera Capital’s Canadian Business

Fiera Capital has appointed Maxime Ménard as president and CEO of its Canadian business.

Ménard, whose appointment took effect immediately, will be based in Montreal and sit on Fiera Capital’s executive committee. Montreal-based Fiera is a global asset manager.

Ménard’s hire has widespread commercial real estate implications. The company is the parent of Fiera Real Estate, which operates globally and has US$6.8 billion of assets, and 330 properties, under management.

Before moving to Fiera, Ménard served in leadership positions for 20 years with Canadian investment firm Jarislowsky Fraser, now owned by Scotiabank.

Jean-Guy Desjardins, 79, Fiera Capital’s founder and global CEO, told the Globe and Mail that Ménard will be one of his potential successors. But Desjardins declined to disclose the timeline for his succession.

Fiera Capital’s Canadian division represents approximately 65% of the company’s overall business, according to the Globe.
