Mila, Hypertec, 5C to Launch AI Research Hub in GMA

Mila, Hypertec and 5C are investing a total of $250 million in a new sovereign AI research hub in the Greater Montreal Area. 

The new hub will be located at Hypertec’s new global headquarters in LaSalle, Que. Mila is a federally supported AI research institute.

The facility will provide up to three megawatts of power and also host 5C’s operations. Construction has already commenced.

Direct-to-chip, immersion cooling, and applied heat recovery technologies are expected to reduce energy consumption and costs by up to 50% compared to typical facilities.
