Molly Westbrook is a CBRE executive vice-president and managing director. She oversees the company’s Canadian head office in downtown Toronto, where she leads strategic growth initiatives for the Greater Toronto Area.

She also serves as CBRE’s executive champion for Canadian retail professionals and clients, drawing on her extensive experience across office, industrial, and retail sectors.

Westbrook began her career in property management with CBRE in San Diego in 2005 and returned to the company in 2023 as managing director of CBRE’s Toronto office. Her career journey has taken her through diverse markets across the U.S. and Canada, shaping her adaptive leadership style and strengthening her understanding of property operations, tenant relations, and cross-selling strategies. Before rejoining CBRE, she led Cushman & Wakefield’s Canadian asset management group, where she launched the Mentorship, Accountability, and Progress (MAP) program, a volunteer group designed to connect mentors and mentees for monthly career advancement and professional development discussions.

A recognized leader in commercial real estate, Westbrook has been awarded the Top 40 Under 40 award by Utah Business and was named a Woman to Watch by Utah Business Journal. She has served on BOMA’s National Advisory Council, contributing to discussions on issues affecting major real estate portfolios, and has appeared as a panelist at prominent industry events, including the Canadian Apartment Conference and ICSC Canada. She is often interviewed by media outlet such as Bloomberg and the Toronto Star, providing insights on commercial real estate trends.

Westbrook is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace within CBRE’s Toronto office. She champions diversity in hiring, facilitates training on unconscious bias, and promotes open dialogue. She advises women entering commercial real estate to help them advance their careers, stressing the need to embrace continuous learning, network proactively, and seek mentorship. She strives to live up to, practise and share her mother’s advice: “If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.”

These are just some of the reasons why Westbrook has received a 2024 Canadian Women in Real Estate Award.
