Montreal Convention Centre Provides Mall Space for First Business in Residence

The Montreal Convention Centre has launched its Innovative Business in Residence program, welcoming Espace Recharge as the first company to participate.

The convention centre is known largely by its French name, Palais des congrès de Montréal. Developed in partnership with MT Lab, the program provides a prime downtown location for a young business to test and refine its solutions in real-world conditions.

As part of the pilot project, the Palais is offering mall space to Espace Recharge, a local company that specializes in providing wellness experiences for corporate clients and hotels. The residency provides an opportunity to engage with a dynamic business environment, gain visibility, and access a diverse clientele to accelerate growth, said the Palais.

“For the Palais des congrès, hosting an innovative business in residence represents a concrete opportunity to highlight ground-breaking initiatives emerging from the Montreal ecosystem and to strengthen our role as a catalyst in transforming business tourism,” said Emmanuelle Legault, president and CEO of the Palais.

Espace Recharge, founded in 2024, offers a range of wellness experiences tailored to the needs of professionals. With about 50 turnkey activities, including meditation, yoga, floral arrangement, and strength training, the company fosters cognitive and physical recovery while accommodating the fast-paced nature of professional life.

A key feature of its offering is the Chambre immersive, an alternative-reality-technology service comprising an enclosed space that transports participants through sound and visuals, creating an environment for relaxation and rejuvenation.

“MT Lab is driving innovation by connecting industry leaders with solutions that have an impact on their market, such as Espace Recharge,” Martin Lessard, general manager of MT Lab With our Innovative Business in Residence program, the Palais is positioning itself and, once again, placing Montréal as a competitive and visionary destination that is fashioning the future of tourism and business events.

Espace Recharge aims to expand its concept with new organizations after completing a successful pilot project with Énergir in which 250 participants reported a 98% satisfaction rate.

“The residency program at the Palais des congrès represents an extraordinary strategic opportunity for us,” said Hélène Beauséjour, co-founder and executive-director of Espace Recharge.
