Montreal’s Massive New Royalmount Mall Set to Open

After years of planning and development, Carbonleo’s massive new Royalmount mall will open Thursday in mid-town Montreal.

Royalmount comprises 824,000 square feet and will accommodate diverse retailers ranging from winter clothing maker and seller Canada Goose to global watchmaker Rolex, which is opening its first Canadian locations

Other Canadian retailers and restaurateurs taking up space at Royalmount include Arc’teryx and A&W. The global lineup also features the likes of women’s fashion icons Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Versace.

Royalmount’s first phase will accommodate about 170 boutiques, including 60 cafes and restaurants. New European food hall Fou Fou and a 77,000-sf urban park will also be part of the real estate mix.

The vision for Royalmount has always been to foster human connections, create a centre of community, and usher in a new era of inclusive luxury for the city,” said Andrew Lutfy, CEO of Carbonleo and lead Royalmount investor, in a news release.

About 50 stores will open on Thursday, and half of the boutiques will be first to market and new to Montreal.
