Montreal’s Nordelec Mixed-Use Project Gains City Approval

Montreal’s major Nordelec mixed-use expansion project has received the green light to proceed.

City council has approved the project near the Lachine Canal in the Pointe-St-Charles district after modifications were made, The Montreal Gazette reported. The modifications include greater building heights, according to the Gazette.

The project is part of the redevelopment for the former Northern Electric property, which has received many revisions since the early 2000s. Plans call for new office and multi-residential buildings to be added.

The Allied Properties REIT-owned site property is adjacent to the canal and bordered by Saint-Patrick Street to the north, Shearer Street to the west, Montmorency Street to the east, and Richardson Street to the south.
