National Bank’s HQ Tower Receives LEED Gold Certification
National Bank of Canada’s corporate headquarters tower in downtown Montreal has received has earned LEED Gold certification in the New Construction category from the Canada Green Build
Known as National Bank Place, the 40-storey building was designed by Menkès Shooner Dagenais LeTourneux Architectes, while electromechanical engineering was completed by the BPA/PMA consortium. The tower incorporates a wide range of energy-efficient measures, including clean-energy systems, advanced heat recovery, LED lighting, triple glazing and real-time energy monitoring.
“Obtaining LEED Gold certification for National Bank Place is not just recognition for our ongoing efforts, but also reflects our deep commitment to a more sustainable future,” Donald Simoneau, the bank’s assistant vice-president of real estate business strategy.
LEED certification evaluates buildings on energy efficiency, indoor air quality, water use, materials, waste reduction and ecological-site design.
