New AC Hotel by Marriott Opens in Downtown Ottawa

A new addition to Ottawa’s hospitality landscape has officially opened with the debut of the AC Hotel by Marriott Ottawa Downtown.

Located at 201 Rideau Street, the property is just steps from the historic ByWard Market and a short distance from major attractions such as Parliament Hill, the Rideau Canal and the National Gallery of Canada.

Developed and managed by RIMAP Hospitality, the hotel brings the European-inspired AC Hotels brand to the heart of Canada’s capital.

“This project represents a significant investment in the capital and underscores RIMAP’s long-term vision to expand our presence in key Canadian markets while delivering best-in-class hospitality,” said Marc Viradi, Montreal-based RIMAP’s president.

The 159-room property caters to modern travellers with minimalist design, premium amenities, and curated experiences. Amenities include EV charging stations, a pool, sauna and gym, flexible meeting and social space, and the AC Lounge, which offers tapas-style dining and craft cocktails.

Guests can also also enjoy the AC Kitchen, where European-style breakfasts are served. The hotel’s interiors reflect a sleek and modern aesthetic, aligned with the brand’s emphasis on clean lines, open layouts, and purposeful design.
