New Food Hall Opens at Montreal’s Centre Eaton
A new food hall has opened at Montreal’s Centre Eaton, introducing a redesigned dining space in the downtown shopping complex.
The Centre Eaton de Montréal announced it has unveiled Les Terrasses, Espace Restos, described as a brand-new culinary destination in the heart of downtown. The space is located on the tunnel level of the property at 705 Sainte-Catherine Street West and pays tribute to the iconic Les Terrasses complex that operated from 1976 to 1987.
“The tunnel level, now home to Les Terrasses – Espaces Restos, has been completely reimagined and redesigned,” said Laurence Duhamel a JLL broker who serves as the mall’s senior leasing director. “The food hall features 12 carefully curated vendors while maintaining ample seating capacity to accommodate busy lunch-hour crowds.”
Les Terrasses – Espace Restos includes 12 food counters. The first phase features Thai Express, Subway, A&W, Poke Monstre, Jugo Juice, Bento Sushi and Edo Japan. A second phase, scheduled to open in fall 2026, will add Hurry Curry, Basha, Shanghai 360 and Grillades Torino.
The new food hall complements the centre’s existing dining options, including Time Out Market Montreal and ninth-floor restaurants Ile de France and Le French Line.
The design, led by the Montreal firm LemayMichaud, draws inspiration from the original Les Terrasses complex and incorporates greenery and natural light in a modern setting.
“We wanted to create a lively and welcoming destination–both an urban oasis and an animated gathering space where light and greenery interact with the vibrant energy of the Centre Eaton de Montréal and downtown Montreal,” said Anne-Marie Bouliane, a partner architect at LemayMichaud. “The friendly atmosphere offers a nod to the former Les Terrasses while reimagining them for today’s visitors.”
Centre Eaton de Montréal said he space was designed to encourage connection during lunch breaks, shopping visits and casual gatherings, while emphasizing comfort, design and sustainability.
The mall’s management also announced that Bath & Body Works has reopened near Les Terrasses with an expanded 5,048-square-foot store footprint, offering body care and home fragrance products.
Located in downtown Montreal with direct access to McGill metro station and the new REM McGill station, the Centre Eaton de Montréal serves nearly 22 million visitors annually and is home to nearly 125 stores and restaurants.
Ivanhoé Cambridge owns the mall, while JLL manages it.
