New Marriott Hotel Opens in Laval
A new Courtyard by Marriott Hotel has opened in the downtown area of Laval, Que.
The 188-room hotel occupies 10 floors in the Espace Montmorency development. Laval is part of the Greater Montreal Area.
Groupe Montoni and fellow GMA organizations the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ and Montez own the four-building Espace Montmorency mixed-use property. The $45-million hotel’s backers include those three firms, Cogir and Urgo Hotels & Resorts Canada.
Urgo will also manage the hotel, whose guests will have access to all serves offered in the Espace Montmorency complex.
The new hotel connects to a subway station through a tunnel. The hospitality development features a business centre for meetings, individual work spaces, reception halls, a restaurant, open-air bar, terraces and access to the complex’s 60,000-square-foot green inner courtyard.
Espace Montmorency has obtained LEED for Neighbourhood Development Gold certification and is targeting the same designation for the buildings’ cores and shells.
