New Sabzi Mandi Supermarket Opens in Winnipeg

The Sabzi Mandi Supermarket chain officially opened its first store in Winnipeg on Friday.

The new store marked Sabzi Mandi’s expansion into Manitoba.

The chain leased 6,624 square feet in Shindico’s Moore Centre at 1375 Phillips Street, the Winnipeg-based commercial real estate firm told Connect via email.

Sabzi Mandi specializes in South Asian food and sells products supplied locally, nationally and internationally. In addition to operating stores, Sabzi Mandi offers franchises.

According to Sabzi Mandi’s website, the Surrey, B.C,-based company now operates 15 stores across Western Canada.

Most company-owned stores (15) are located on B.C.’s Lower Mainland. A new Sabzi Mandi franchise outlet opened in November 2024 in Kelowna, B.C.

The family-owned chain is headed by Ravinder Narula, who launched the company in 2003.
