Nofada Acquires Two Quebec City Apartment Towers
Nofada immobilier has acquired two rental-apartment buildings in Quebec City.
The two 12-storey towers are known by their French name Tours Chapdelaine and located at 2200-2220 Chapdelaine Avenue in the Sainte-Foy area.
Julien Simard, Nofada’s president, announced the deal on LinkedIn without identifying the seller or purchase price. But according to published reports, Montreal-based Nofada acquired the towers from CAPREIT for $35 million.
“We have plans for modernization, especially in terms of energy efficiency. A bit of rejuvenation of the common living areas and units,” Simard told Le Soleil.
According to the reports, Nofada acquired the towers as part of a bidding process co-ordinated by Avison Young. The property includes two retail spaces, with one occupied by a hair salon and the other sitting vacant.
Built in the early 1970s, the towers comprise 214 units altogether.
