Northwest Healthcare Properties REIT Overhauls Leadership Team
Northwest Healthcare Properties REIT revamped its leadership team Wednesday in a bid to increase unit value.
Craig Mitchell, formerly Northwest’s president, became interim CEO after founder Paul Dalla Lana resigned from his CEO and board chair positions. Toronto-based Northwest also launched a strategic review to plot future growth. The REIT’s portfolio holds 233 properties with 18.6 million square feet of leasable area in Canada, the U.S., Brazil, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Dalla Lana founded the REIT in 2004 and took it public in 2010. He will focus on his work with Northwest Value Partners Inc., the REIT’s largest shareholder. Mitchell had served as president since 2020 after joining Northwest in 2018 as the head of its Australia and New Zealand division. Michael Brady was promoted to president from his former executive vice-president, general counsel and corporate secretary roles.
Dale Klein was appointed non-executive chair after serving as the board’s lead independent trustee.
