Olcheski Launches New Brokerage in Calgary
Commercial real estate industry veteran Alexi Olcheski has launched a new brokerage in Calgary.
Olcheski now serves as president of KPLI Global after departing from Avison Young, where launched his 15-year career. His former Avison Young team members Estelle Tran and Anastasiya Gryshchenko have joined him at KPLI Global and serve as managing director and vice-president, respectively.
Olcheski has also welcomed Brendon Krueger as president of KPLI’s land and agriculture division. Krueger brings 25 years of agricultural industry experience, including nine years managing real estate and facilities at UFA Co-operative. The new division will focus on agricultural land markets, agribusiness investment and sustainable land stewardship, The Calgary Herald reported.
Olcheski recently completed a $30-million sale of a southern Alberta ranch and is preparing to open a second office in Saskatchewan, according to the Herald.
He has also recruited Jennifer Fauquier, who will lead a new construction division as president while also serving as the firm’s interim CFO. Darcy Whalen is the company’s broker.
In one of his last deals before leaving Avison Young, Olcheski negotiated the relocation lease for Ruth’s Chris Steak House move into the historic Barron Building.
In its early mandates, KPLI is listing the Globe theatre and adjacent Rileys Reproductions properties on Eighth Avenue S.W., for sale, according to the Herald. Olcheski told his interviewer that, based on prospective buyer interest, the 60-year-old Globe building could remain part of Calgary’s entertainment landscape.
