Pavilion to Expand into Calgary with New Downtown Co-working Location

Calgary’s downtown core is getting set to welcome a new premium co-working space as Pavilion Cowork prepares to open its first location outside B.C.

The company, known for its high-end, community-focused workspaces in Vancouver, will launch a 14,906-square-foot space at 550 6th Avenue S.W. this fall.

The expansion marks a major milestone for Pavilion, signalling the company’s growing footprint and continued commitment to supporting Canada’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The new Calgary location will offer 47 private offices and four meeting rooms, with direct access to the city’s Plus 15 skywalk and C-Train transit line.

“Building a business is tough enough—you shouldn’t have to do it alone,” said Herman Kwee, president of Alabaster Homes, Pavilion’s parent company, in a news release. “With our expansion, we’re excited to welcome even more Canadian entrepreneurs into our community and help them take their businesses to the next level.”

In addition to the Calgary launch, Pavilion will open its third Vancouver location this summer. The 5,500-square-foot space at 564 Beatty Street will feature 18 private offices, 16 dedicated desks, and two meeting rooms—aimed at meeting the continued demand for space in Pavilion’s already fully booked Mount Pleasant hubs.

As part of its growth strategy, Pavilion is also relaunching its popular Residency program, which offers eight startups free office space for four months—five in Calgary and three in Vancouver. The program, which has previously supported rising brands such as Monos, Fable Home, and Blume, now also includes marketing support such as professional photography and video services.

Applications for the Residency program are open until July 31st for Calgary and May 15th for Vancouver.

Founded in 2019, Pavilion operates as a sister company to Alabaster, a Vancouver-based boutique developer.
