PCI, Low Tide Propose Three Towers Around Vancouver SkyTrain Station

PCI Developments and Low Tide Properties are proposing to build three towers as part of a major mixed-used project around a Vancouver SkyTrain station in east Vancouver.

The project is located at 1155 East Sixth Avenue near the VCC-Clark SkyTrain stop, which serves as the western terminus for the Millennium Line. The property sits between East Sixth and the future Broadway extension of the Millennium Line, which is now under construction.

PCI and Low Tide have filed a development plan with the city. They contend that the project aligns with city policy directions to increase housing and job space near rapid-transit stations.

If all goes according to plan, the Vancouver-based companies will convert a current 1970s-era Shaw Communications two-storey warehouse and surrounding parking lot into two multi-family towers that both stand 35 storeys and contain 600 units altogether. The other building is slated to be a 19-storey office tower that comprises 180,000 square feet.

All three towers are slated to sit on a shared podium that contains 40,694 sf of light-industrial space, 21,788 sf worth of retail units, a 39,990-sf grocery store and a 10,538-sf childcare facility.
